Hello all,
Thank you! I have not said that nearly as often as I should, but please know that I am deeply appreciative of the opportunity to serve as your Chamber’s executive director. The past two years with your Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce has been very rewarding and I am forever grateful for your friendship.
For me, this is a bitter-sweet time. With three wonderful grandkids and a fourth on the way, I am extremely excited to announce my retirement so that I may spend more time with them; however, stepping away from our outstanding staff, board of directors, ambassadors, and especially all of you is difficult and heartrending.
My last day with the Chamber will be Friday, April 30, 2021, unless a replacement is selected earlier. Until then, my focus is to faithfully continue serving our wonderful Chamber and all of you. Your Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is a tremendous asset for our community and our members, and we encourage you to call on us to help you grow your business.
Our members are the owners of the Chamber and, as owners, you can take extreme comfort knowing that the organization is led by an outstanding group of dedicated volunteers who give abundantly of their time, talents, and resources to serve as your board of directors. And, you have an excellent staff member in Danielle Monaco who tirelessly works to promote all Chamber members through her expertise and skill in social media marketing. You also have dedicated volunteers who serve as Chamber ambassadors. The work and focus of your board of directors, staff, and ambassadors is to promote your business and help contribute to your continued success.
As Chamber members, you make a very clear, strong, and compelling statement that you believe in and care about your community. And you intuitively understand that your Chamber membership makes you a vital part of a team through which more is accomplished by many working together towards a common goal of strengthening commerce and thereby creating a better quality of life for all of Franklin County.
Through your membership, you represent a powerful organization of over 240 members that are dedicated to promoting commerce throughout the greater Franklin County region. Please encourage other businesses to partner with you by joining your Chamber. United together, your Chamber has a stronger and more powerful voice in advancing commerce initiatives throughout our community and creating a more desirable place to live, work, and visit. And, along with your membership, please continue to support your Chamber through participation in its unique networking events, such as the extraordinarily delightful and exciting annual truck raffle.
Again, thank you for allowing me to serve as your executive director.
Wishing you all the very best,
John Barnes
